Does Intake Of Plan B Cause Abdominal Pain With Spotting?

Hi my name is Courtney. I have been having abdominal pain really bad. I took a plan b pill over a week ago and another one two weeks before. I m not sure if this is the cause or not. It hurts when I sit up like I feel a sharp pain. I ve also gotten a few sharp pains in my back and then that goes away. I spotted for 3 days, on the 13th 14th and 15th of this month. I had my period the first week of this month. I m not sure if spotting is symptom from the plan b pill or if I need to take a test or see a doctor. Please help me!

I understand your concern.
Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours after an episode of unprotected intercourse to avoid unwanted or accidental pregnancy.
Since you have taken two doses of it within a week time, it could cause some side effects like abdominal pain and spotting, as these are hormonal preparations. These symptoms needs to be managed by supportive treatment by intake of analgesics. Once you get proper bleeding, these symptoms would eventually subside.
Plan B would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding in the form of periods within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pill. In case this doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
