Does Intake Of Uncooked And Baked Egg During Pregnancy Impact The Baby?

I have a 35 year old daughter who is about 16 weeks pregnant, with her first child and she is concerned about a lasagna that she made from scratch. She made it last night, it has 3 or 4 eggs in it, then she put it, uncooked in the refrigerator overnight and is going to bake it tonight. Now she is very concerned about the uncooked eggs in it that might have been compromised by being cracked open and used but not cooked for about 24 hours. She is really doing everything by the book with this pregnancy and will not eat the lasagna because of the eggs. Is she right to be concerned about bacteria or salmonella even though it is going to be baked tonight? My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY Thank you in advance for your input.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since the meal was refrigerated, it is unlikely that there should be any bacterial organisms including salmonella present.

If it was not refrigerated for a prolonged period then there would be a risk of infection but not if it was appropriately stored.

Bacterial infections in foods would affect any one using it so if this is a fear then really, no one should use it.

I hope this helps
