Does Intake Of Whey Protein Cause Erectile Dysfunction?
Hello. I am skinny guy. And i am fed up of others calling me thinny or anything. I have a low bmi of around 15 or 16. My age is 22 and weight is 55 kg and height is 5 10. I started gym 2 months back. My friend recommended me whey protein for gaining weight and building muscle. He told me to take half tablespoon pre and post workout. I have read few articles regarding side effects of whey protein. One of them is erectile dysfunctiom. Please help me if i can have whey protein?
Whey protein is used to improve muscle mass when taken appropriately as per the advice of a dietician or your fitness coach. There are no proven side effects of it like erectile dysfunction. It is advised in different illnesses where the benefits help the patient in the improvement of symptoms.
In your case, I would advise you to see a dietician or if you are planning to join the gym and build muscle mass then as per your trainer’s advice consume the whey protein. Then you will get benefits of it if taken properly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
