hi
Kyphoplasty is a procedure where a vertebral body is replaced by a prosthesis.it is generally done in situations where a vertebral body is compressed and more often done for mobile regions of lower or lumbar area where bending occurs.Thorax or in upper back which is relatively ess mobile it may be possibleto heal with spine brace or cast for immobilization.however if some nerve implication is there or causing cord compression then kyphoplasty may be indicated for upper back or chest as in your case at T5.
regards
