Does Lesions On Penis Shaft Indicate Herpes?

Hello, today I decided to go to my primary care provider and get checked out because I ve developed lesions on my penis shaft. I ve seen them before from vigorous amounts of masturbation, before having unprotected sex. Now I have had unprotected sex and they seem to have reappeared. My doctor took one glance and said that s herpes Is there a way she might be mistaken? I have been masturbating 4-5 times a day..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Genital herpes is often presented with vesicular lesions. So, if you had a physical examination at your doctor, there is no chance that the doctor had been mistaken. I recommend using an Acyclovir cream for local application. I also suggest using Acyclovir tablets three times a day and maintain a good hygiene.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
