Does Levothyroxin Bring Periods?

Does levothyroxin bring on periods? I am perimenopause and had no periods for 9 months then started 50mcg of levothyroxin 18 days ago and to day I have the start of a normal period pms, cramps, breast tenderness and down to the exact date that they normally would come. I am 57 and late menopause runs in the family genes.
