Does Light Spotting Mean The IUD Has Stopped Delivering The Copper?

I have had my Copper T IUD for 12 years next month and have had a regular flow (4 day) period for the entire 12 years. This month though I have only had light spotting for 10 days now. I plan to have it taken out next month at my yearly checkup but is there something wrong? Or does this just mean the IUD has stopped delivering the copper?
