Does Lump Under Scalp That Moved Near To Temple Just Over Ear Indicates Shingles?
I have a lump under my scalp. It started hurting five days ago. It has moved from the back of my head to very near to my temple, just over my ear. I cannot use reading glasses because the pain is too bad. The ER doc took blood and said it might be shingles ?? Not. I am taking antibiotics for it. Can the infection get into my blood stream?
I have gone through your query. A single lump usually don't indicate that it is shingles. Shingles present with several painful vesicles and start with rashes looking like hives. The lump you have might be due to bacterial infection. This is also painful. But actual diagnosis can be made by clinical examination and investigation.
Antibiotics don't work for the shingles. It is very difficult for the infection to get in to your blood stream.
