Does Medication For Sinus Cause Rise In TSH Level?
Hi, I see my Dr. tomorrow but got test results today online. Concern is my tsh was 17-the highest its ever been (other than 1-131 body scans years ago was 160 before scans) I had thyroid removed in 1995 & now take .175 synthyroid daily. I have had a sinus infection for 2 weeks taking zithromax & Nyquil -then Augmentin that I still am on. Started Norvasc 4 months ago. Could any of these news meds cause tsh to rise that much? Thank you.
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have gone for thyroid removal and now you are taking synthroid. You antibiotics for sinus infection does not affect your thyroid hormone levels much. You may need adjust the dosage of synthroid. It is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
