Does Medication To Lower Blood Sugar Levels Cause Low Heartbeat?

Hi Dr my mum has been told a low heart beat around 40 today. Last week she was told her sugar level is high and gave her medicine to take to lower it. She was also told her sugar level came down from the last time but why her beat rate went down to 40? Is there any advice please. Could the medication causing for low heart beat rate? She is 62years old.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is better to get done the EKG test as long as the 40 beat per/m of heart rate is concern if this is really brasdy cardia of focal point then it may need pacemaker and this may not be due to any medicines, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
