Does Morning Numbness In The Extremities Indicate Borderline Diabetes In A Hypertensive?
i am 62. my hands and sometimes my feet are numb in the mornings. i worry because my late mother had borderline diabetes. did not have to take insulin. could i be having the same symptoms as her? could i be borderline myself? not overweight. have high blood pressure,
Hello dear, Numbness always does not indicate diabetes. It may be due to nerve compression, vitamin B12 deficiency, immobility, same posture for long time.
For diabetes diagnosis you should test for blood glucose level and HbA1c. But as you are hypertensive, you should screen foe diabetes. So do test first.
Hope this may help you. Thank you Dr. Sagar
