Does Muscle Weakness Cause A Deep Dent On The Skin After Wearing Elastic Socks?
Hi, I m 40 and these last 4 years I noticed that the elastic ring on the top of my socks leaves a quite deep I think (about 5 mm) dent when it used to be about 1 mm. What changed these last years is that I attempt to run-walk 4 miles once a week or 5 days, which I haven t done since I started working and smoking about 20 years ago. But I now am unemployed and live a sedentary life. I also quit smoking and try to avoid as much as I can some of the bad stuff(fried food, processed sugar, dairy, breads).Thank you for your time.

Does Muscle Weakness Cause A Deep Dent On The Skin After Wearing Elastic Socks?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. The deep dent is most likely due to tight elastics in your stocking rather than due to muscle weakness. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
