Does My Dad Have Stroke ?

On friday afternoon, after he woke up, he felt his left arm completely numb. He also had headaches. Those are 2 symptoms of strokes. But then, we didnt know. So he went to his diabetes doctor . He told him to take some blood tests and check his sugar level. Turns out that his sugar level is a little higher than normal.. almost borderline . today, tuesday, he feels a tired, his arm is still numb but he can still move it and drive. His neck is a little painful. We re guessing that it was a mini stroke but we don t know. Doesn t an MRI just check for tumors ?? Is there some other possible disease that he can have due to his condition: he has diabetes 2 and the symptoms i have mentioned? His diabetes doctor prescribed medicine.. but thinking that it s arthritis/rheumatoid. He also gave him acetaminophen ....? This is before his doctor received the blood tests. Do you know anyone who suffered from stroke? how were their first symptoms? Is it baad to wait days without doing anything about it? no, actually he can smile. yes he can use that arm. like i said.. he drove with it! thank you for all your help =)

Thanks for the query

The history is not typical of a stroke but of a cervical region cord compression.
I suggest u take a ct brain with spine screening for this. MRI brain can wait for the moment.
Please watch out for this BP more than sugars. BP tends to go upward in cases of stroke
