Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
11 months ago I began having occasional pains in my chest . The best that I can describe them is to relate it to a brief ( approximately 5 seconds) charlie horse / muscle spasm , internal and about 2 inches left of center of my chest. 10 months ago I received a secondary lightning strike, which I received no medical attention for. 8 months ago I had an EKG done which check out clear. I sell plasma twice a week, so I have my vitals checked bi-weekly. My BP is consistently in great ranges, yet my resting heart rate over the last 2 months often ranges from 100-115. this is an increase from a prior average of around 75-80. For the last three days I have suffered from a pain in my RIGHT shoulder which I best describe as a feeling similar to the way a room temperature IV fluid feels... a sort of feeling as if there is a bone that is freezing. I know that the advice will be to get checked... if for no other reason the change in my average heart rate. But given the newest symptom, I m wondering how immediate the need for concern is. Wondering if the description of the pain is consistent with a heart attack?
hi;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
Chest pain of heart attack will be more of a discomfort or uneasiness than exact pain .Also it is mostly asociated with sweating ;restlessness;occassionally vomiting.You just have pain at a particular spot so it is more likely due to pain of costochondral junction;or a muscular pain.
thanks
