Does My Report Of SGPT/ALT As 87 U/L Indicate Serious Liver Damage?
Hello Doctor, My SGPT/ALT is 87 U/L, does this mean serious liver damage? I m not a heavy drinker nor occasional but I am fond of eating fatty foods like chicken skin, pork fat, etc. I am also eating a lot even though I am already full. Please advise. Thanks,Jed

There is slight increment of your ALT level which is not significant.
You should not be concerned of liver injury with ALT level of 87.
As ALT is present in skeletal muscles too, strenuous exercise or an intramuscular injection may raise its level too.
