Does My Substantially Low GFR Level Mean I Have Progressive CKD?

My Serum Creatinine level on an average is 1.5 for the last 20 years. It flluctuates between 1.3 to 1.7. I recently got a test done and my GFR is 41. I have become very worried, because I realised that I am a now a CKD patient and it is a progressive disease. What should I do.

Hi,

If you are 20 years old, this creatinine is high for you. You should do a sonography and urine analysis and other tests for diagnosis course of CKD and then manage it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maryam Miri, Nephrologist
