hello sir, my age is 28 years, widal test report is like salmonella typhi 'o' 1:20 dilution salmonella typhi 'h' 1:20 dilution salmonella paratyphi 'A' 'H' nil salmonella paratyphi 'b' ''H' nil what is the meaning of this report, is it coming under typhoid fever or not . please tell me sir urgent thank you.
You have negative widal test. You are not suffering from typhoid fever.Fever may be due to other reasons. Salmonella O or H antigen titer values equal or greater than 1: 160 is considered as positive. However four fold increase in titration is confirmatory. You may also repeat widal test if clinician has strong doubt about typhoid fever. Hope i have answered your query.
