Does Negative HSV II Mean The Virus Is Completely Out Of The System?

Hello, i was diagnosed with hsv II about 4 years ago with NO outbreaks what so ever. The gyno just told me i was probably in contact with it at one point in my life and there might have been some antibodies. i repeated my blood recently because i have been in denial for years (especially since i am always stressing out about certain things i would think i would have an out break at one point) Results came back Negative. Should i go by these final results? why would they tell me i had it before and i don t have it at all now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The fact that you are -ve HSV ll ,means that you don't have active HSV at the time of testing. .. it dies not mean that the herpes is out of your system, the antibodies may be still there & can turn in active form any time in life & you may turn carrier of the disease that time.
Thanks.
