Does Nonunion Of Ankle Fracture Need Surgical Correction?

hello doc i had a hair line fracture on 4th april 2010, and my plaster was removed on 4th of may. but my ankle injury is not recovered till yet there is a swelling on right side of my right legs ankle. i got it x rayed today a local doc said there still there is a gap. and he has given me a medecine known as "pion p" for reducing the swelling. ican walk easily, only a little pain is there which happens when i walk a lot in a day. that doc has told me to wait and watch for a month there may be a chance of filling that gap, if that doesnt happens it will be operated. what say?
