Does One Get Cramps In The Legs Before Menstruation?

Hello,i'm Alanha and i keep getting cramp in the back of my left leg where the joint is.It hurts really badly and when i straighten my leg it pops whats wrong?please help me i am 12 years old and i don't have my periods yet and my mum said she started getting cramp when she was about to start hers?
