Does Ovarian Cyst Cause Darkening Of Skin?
Hi doctor. I am 20 years of age and since some months , I have been going through a real hard time that is, my complexion gets darker. I don t realize the reason behind this. Is it my diet? I am also suffering through ovarian cyst. COuld this be a possible reason?

thank you for asking your concern madam. ovarian cyst is a harmless condition if it is small say less than 3 cm. it does not cause dark complexion unless it is associated with some other problems for example adrenal crisis which in your case is very unlikely because for that some long standing disease is triggering point. we can think of some more common causes of darkening complexion like
1. vitamin b12 and folic acid deficiency anemia for which you need to check your complete blood count that is CBC.
2. if you are having burning sensation in sunlight then we can think of hyperpigmentation for that you need to consult any skin specialist and physician.
some other conditions like increase thyroid hormone can also present with darkening. i would suggest you to consult your physician if you are under any treatment and feel free to ask any further doubts.
