General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Procedure of upper limb artery cannulation can cause secondary swelling to the same limb, but not that of the opposite one.
* The lower limb swelling obviously indicate disturbances of the venous return from the legs through possible thrombus formation or else.

In either of the case, you require an immediate visit to your cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
