I have been advised to get my wisdom teeth removed since the age 25 .I am now almost 50 and am having slight pain in the lower left wisdom tooth amd also the upper left .I bite my inner cheek often if I dont eat with care. Do I have to extract my W teeth ? I am 5 feet 3 inches 145 pounds and I take Levothyroxine 88 mcg /day.I also took vit D prescription medication for three months and now I have a good vit D result.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The cheek bite could be because of abnormal position of the wisdom tooth in the arch. The wisdom tooth can be removed if it is troubling, since it is a non functional tooth.
Consult a oral maxillofacial surgeon and get the tooth removed under local anesthesia. You can take a course of antibiotics like penicillin 500mg tid for three days(if you are not allergic)
I hope my answer will help you, take care.

Dentist Dr. Lizabeth Sloane's  Response
Hello,
Your description sounds like you may be grinding your teeth. Since you are biting your cheek and experiencing pain on the upper and lower arches, these are typical symptoms of clenching or bruxism. Try a night or an occlusal guard to relieve these symptoms. Loss of enamel including some chipping may be noticeable on your teeth.
If you have decay, an abscess, or a periodontal infection, you may need your wisdom teeth extracted. I suggest a current evaluation of the wisdom teeth to decide if they should be extracted at this time. Depending on the position of the teeth, removal may reduce your tendency to grind your teeth.
Rinse with warm salt water and continue with good oral hygiene to keep the wisdom teeth clean. Take anti-inflammatory medication such as Tylenol or Advil. Call your dentist to schedule an appointment for an exam and x-rays.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope my suggestion offer you some relief.
