Does Painful And Itchy Rash On Buttocks Indicate Bacterial Infection?

I have been bothered with a painful itch rash for over 2 months now. My butt crack is itchy, especially at night, and the skin is red and raw and feels hot to the touch. My doctor prescribed Nystatin and a cortizone cream which has only helped some and now has come back with avengence. I have tried several different things, from apple cider vinegar, Burts Bee s Diaper cream, cod liver oil and nothing works. Is this possibly a bacterial infection?

Hi,

Bacterial infection does not cause these itchy rashes. It is a fungal infection as I think. However, you need to consult a dermatologist for clinical examination.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
