Does Paranoid Schizophrenia Patient Need Lot Of Care?
brother 66yr old has paranoid schizophrenia,living on his own with assist from brother with shopping.His diet is meager and has idea that another brother is workingon arrying body bags down 16 flights of stairs,also continues to talk other family member having a farm.I worry he has lost weight and seems to bejust surviving.He gets im modaket every 2 wks and takes largactil. I do think he may need more care he lives in montreal.

Yes, schizophrenia patients need extra care. Schizophrenia is a chronic illness and it lead to cognitive impairment which cause decrease self care, decrease social interaction and poor thinking process. In schizophrenia, patients do not have insight about the illness. All these factors make them very fragile. That y they need continue attention and care.
