I'm worried about Lung Cancer. I have never smoked but everyone in my family does. My mother, Aunt, 2 uncles and 1st cousin, on my mom's side of the family, all die from small cell lung cancer. They all smoked a lot. What are my odds that I will get lung cancer from always being around 2nd hand smoke?
Thanks for your question on HCM. Yes, you are right. Chances of smoking related lung diseases including Lung cancer are high when you are exposed to passive smoking. The main difference is amount of smoke getting into the lungs. In passive smoking less amount of smoke is going in the lung, so less chances. But you can not avoid the possibiity. The best way is to ask your relatives to quit smoking, or you can use mask when they are near you.
