Does Polycythaemia Cause Cramps?

I have neurological Behcets and have been managed with steroids and various chemotherapy and other steroid spaing medications continually for about 25 years now .. I have just been diagnosed with polycytaemia, is it likely to have been caused by the medications? I have also been having hypertensive crisis type symptoms, could this be a symptom of the polycytaemia? Does polycytaemia cause cramps? Breathlessness? Especially when lying down?

Hi,

All of your symptoms including tingling, numbness, itching, breathlessness and light breathing are due to polycythemia vera. It's due to mutation in making of blood cells. The cause is not known and not related to drug intake. It can be controlled by specific medicines. Please consult a hematologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
