My daughter started rash 6 weeks ago. At begining only left face and right eye lid. But now it is butterfly rash. did blood testing. Only ana positive. My daughter feels good. No any other problem. It is lupus? She took vyvanse 30mg from 2 and half months ago.
Brief Answer: Requires anti-dsDNA and anti-smith test along with Rheumatologist opinion.

A butterfly rash is typical but not limited to Systemic lupus erythematosus. A positive ANA occurs in many disorders and doesn’t necessarily mean your daughter has lupus.
Anti-dsDNA and anti-smith test is required to see more specifically. Some blood and urine tests are also required and only after that some conclusion can be drawn. A rheumatologist opinion is also advised.
Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Keep a follow up to see how you doing.
Regards! Dr. Ali Raza
