Does Postponing Root Canal Treatment Due To Crowns Being Fitted Cause Any Problem?

I have recently had crowns fitted to my front teeth and now have a root canal. I can't get this treated for about 4 weeks, that means I would have had the root canal for about 10 weeks before it gets treated, will this be too long? I am also waiting to see an oral surgeon as I have severe periodontal disease, will this make it worse? My teeth also keep making a cravkling sound, I'd this from the crowns or the root canal?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain waiting for such a long period to get root canal treatment done for a tooth that is already indicated for it is not a good thing as the condition of the tooth if it is infected will keep on deteriorating as there will be progressive infection in the tooth..

You can even have pain and swelling as the infection progress..
Even if you have crowns fitted the reason for waiting for 4 weeks is not known to me as you have not pointed in your question as waiting for so long is not needed even if you have got the crowns done and just waiting for maximum a week i s enough..

As your teeth are crackling it can be due to the oversized crowns due to which the inner side if the crowns must be touching the upper surface that is the incisal edges of lower front teeth and making the sound..

One more thing is that for Periodontal diseases better to consult a Periodontist who is a specialist in gum diseases and not an Oral Surgeon..

Get the root canal also done soon to avoid discomfort..

Hope this information helps..
