Does Prolonged Intake Of Primolut To Delay Periods Cause Side Effects?

Hi I'm 50. Want to delay period for 4 weeks with Primolut N 5mg tds starting 7 days prior to start of my next period cos traveling. Have done it once before but not for this duration. Is this ok? I have no chronic ailments and still menstruate regularly. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....
No prolonged take of primolut 5mg is not advised. Primolut contains 5 mg noresthisterone which is advised for delaying period by 3-7 days only.
You could take combined contraceptive pill like femilon starting from 1st day of menstrual bleeding. They should be taken once daily at about same time of day.till you want your period.
Your next menstrual period would start approximately 7 days after stopping of combined contraceptive pill.
