Does Prolonged Usage Of Effexor Lessens Its Effectiveness?

I have taken Effexor for 4 years or so 75 mg I have come up n weight by 38 pounds in the last 3 years swelling n my hands migrains and just exhausted all the time. this new dr says I have fibromayalsia .. I use a sleep machine at nite and take restoril to get sleep and zanaflex for restless leg.. I still feel down a lot have I been on Effexor too long that it doesn t work?

Hello

It's fairly common for a given antidepressant like Effexor to gradually become less effective over time. The options for your doctor would be to increase the dosage or to place you on a different medication like Celexa
