Does Prostate Removal Cause Permanent Erectile Dysfunction?

I had cancer surgery in Nov. 2016 to remove my bladder and prostrate and have NOT been able to get an erection since then,no matter what I ve tried. Is this problem permanent or is there still hope that I can one day get an erection again ? I am only 56 and still have a high sex drive, so this is really driving me crazy.ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

It may be just temporary. Erectile dysfunction is not a complication of prostate surgery. It may be a psychological or physical weakness. Consult the dermatologist or psychiatrist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel,
