Does Quitting Gabapentin Cause Seizures?

I was given gabapentin 300mg when I was told I had a seizure due to alcohol withdrawal...was also given paroxetine along with other meds at the time...this was 1 and 1/2 years ago...I have reduced the doage amount to decrease taking medications on my own..was taking 2 by mouth twice daily and now only take one each morning but really don t want to take at all...will this cause me to have more seizures if I quit taking the gabapentin all together? My health is important and I just kept taking one every morning as usual as a daily ritual...would like to stop taking them if it will not cause me a health problem...thank you

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

If the sizuures ictured due to alcohol withdrawal, you will be fine if gabapentin is topped. Since you are now on the lowest dose, gabapentin can be stopped. However, you should discuss with your doctor about this before stopping gabapentin..
