Does Recurring Pain Post Treatment Of Injured Testicle Affect One’s Fertility?

Hello! My boyfriend is 24 years old. 8 years ago, one of him testicle was twisted. He waited lot of time at home and when he went to hospital, the doctors had extirpated the testicle. Currently, when he doesn t take care of himself and carries weight or accidentally hits the inghinal region, he has pain at the remained testicle. When this happens, the doctor recommended him anti-inflammatory like Zinnat and Flamexin. He said if the pain is repeated often, he will make a surgery to fix the testicle. Today is the second time when it hurts in the las seven days. What happens, it s this normal? This problem can affect his fertility?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Fertility will be unaffected in most cases as one testis is intact. He can undergo a semen analysis to check whether the sperm count and motility is normal or not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
