Does Rubbing Alcohol On A Blister Cause Infection?
I put rubbing alcohol on an blister that was completely ripped off and it turned white, the area is slightly warm. This is about the second day. I am nervous it got infected. It s is currently covered with a antibiotic bandage and has been cleaned with the rubbing alcohol twice. Should I worry about it?
You must avoid applying alcohol over the blisters. Instead you can apply a topical antibacterial cream like mupirocin. A short course of oral antibiotic like azithromycin might also help. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
