Does Sciatica Cause Electric Shocks To The Back And Ankle?

Hello,I am suffering from sciatica(well atleast thats what I think it is)it's like someone is sending an electric shoke from my lower back until my ankle,I'm hopeless I can hardly walk,I cant seem do find a solution.Please doctor will you help me find my problem?Thank you very much
