Does Sharp, Burning Sensation In Groin While Exercising Suggest Hernia?
I am a 54 year old woman. Physically fit. When using the leg press to lift weights recently, on two separate occasions , I experienced a sharp, burning sensation in my right groin. I thought there was a pin in my shorts sticking into me (but there wasn t). There are no bulges in my groin and no other symptoms. Is this pain possibly the sign or symptom if a hernia?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A hernia is not associated with pin like sensation in the groin. Hernia is associated with symptom of something bulging out which is more when intra-abdominal pressure increases. Intra-abdominal pressure can increase during coughing, sneezing etc. Pin like sensation is suggestive of nerve related disorder like nerve compression, nerve injury etc. I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
