Does Short Menstrual Period And Lower Back Pain Indicate Pregnancy?
I have been getting pregnancy symptoms for about 4 weeks now, I took a test last week and there was a very faint positive line, I mean so faint that I thought my eyes could have been playing tricks. But 3 days after my period was due I started my period. Usually my period is heavy and lasts for about 5 to 6 days while this time my period was very light and lasted only 2 days which is pretty strange. These last few days I have had an aching pain in my lower back which I have never had before, could I be pregnant?
2. Ectopic pregnancy wherein the pregnancy is implanted somewhere outside the uterine cavity - most commonly in tube. Such pregnancy does not grow and tube gets ruptured subsequently. This is an haemorrhagic emergency requiring emergency surgical intervention with many units of blood transfusion. However, if detected before rupture, it can be managed conservatively by medicines like Methotrexate.
Since you had delayed bleeding which was very low and are having pain, better try to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Please get ultrasonography done ASAP. If the uterine cavity is empty in spite of (weak) positive pregnancy test, it is ectopic pregnancy demanding immediate intervention. If non-viable products are seen in the uterine cavity, it is missed abortion and will need surgical evacuation of the uterine cavity.
Please report to your Obstetrician ASAP.
I hope you got the message.
