Does Sinusitis Cause Throat Ache?

My throat hurts on one side and has been off and on for about two weeks now. I went to an urgent care thinking I had strep throat but the test came back negative however I don t believe there was an efficient swab because I kept gagging. The nurse practitioner did notice my ears were red when she check with a possible infections so she prescribed me antibiotics. Is it my sinus since it keeps coming and going?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, it is possible sore throat may develop due to sinusitis.
Infection in the sinus cause discharge of mucous lead to post nasal drip may lead to sore throat. So use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use decongestants and antibiotics to recover from the infection. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
