Does Sitting In A Hot Car Cause Symptoms Of A Fever?

Does sitting in a hot car cause symptoms of a fever?

I was getting a health screening today and the doctor said I had a 103 degree fever and a 105 pulse rate. I am a 20 year old healthy female. I didn't feel sick but I was warm because I had sat in my warm car (in the parking garage) for 10 min about 15 min prior to the meeting. Can sitting in a hot car cause these symptoms?

This is not likely, your body is very good at keeping its own temrature the same through out the day, it would take a lot of heat to change that of your body.

hello and welcome to health care magic ,no sitting in a hot car does not cause symptoms of fever ,
if it may it bay be due to other reasons ,it may happen that due to work load ,have not noticed yourself but after relaxation from the task you had felt like that way, have paracetamol and have youre blood investigations such as tlc, dlc, lft, kft, urine routine and microscopy and have consultation with your physician, take care

General & Family Physician Dr. Jitender Chauhan's  Response
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. In your case increase in heart rate alone could have been due to sitting in car but fever along with increased heart rate is unlikely due to it. You must get yourself thoroughly examined your blood tests done to find out the real cause for it. Wish you good health.
