Does Slight Blood In Phlegm During A Bad Cough Need Medical Attention?
I think I have just a very bad cold, but have very bad cough producing phlegm, am able to blow my nose some, have tired eyes, with mucus coming out of them and crust over when I sleep, which I ve had to do sitting up the last three nights because of coughing. Some phlegm has a few spots of blood in them which I think is from coughing so hard. Have been taking Robitussen DM, aspirin, and gargling with Listerine. I have had a pneumonia shot. Just wondering if I should see my doctor?
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As your physician I would like to tell you that even though medicines you are taking are right, you might be missing perfect antibiotic which could be taken only after examining and consulting your physician.
Also I would like to add that fever, blood in sputum and ches tightness and persist cough are symptoms that are not to be taken as a common cold or flu. You should visit your physician and undergo a thorough examination as soon as possible.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
