Does Smoking Methamphetamine After A Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Cause Any Complication?
Hello, I am 1 1/2 weeks post-op from the weight loss surgery, vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I ve been following my surgeon s plan, taking my meds, getting in fluids and TRYING to get enough protein (I fall short there).... anyways, I decided to smoke a small amount of crystal meth today and I m just wondering if I will be okay or if I should seek medical attention.....???? What are signs of my stomach lining opening up? I m a but scared...
No, it is not advisable to use Methamphetamine so soon after surgery. Meth increases blood pressure which increases bleeding risk at the surgical site. Refrain from meth for atleast 6 weeks. However, it is better to stop using meth altogether due to its adverse effect on health. You can seek help from an addiction center if needed.
