Does Smoking Cause Pain In Throat Radiating To Ears, Neck And Around The Lungs?

About a week ago i smokek about 1 inch of a cuban cigar, mostly outside. It was cool. After i went for a walk i felt painbin my throat, but not inside. I can dring. Eat a breath, but the pain goes from my ears to my neck up to close to the lungs. Was it caused by 10 puffs of a cuban cigar or the cold? Also, some weeks ago i brought the air conditioning in and later two mise apoeared in the house. I cleaned tge air though. Coukd this be sone roden virus from the air?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, smoking is not responsible for radiating pain to ears, neck and around the lungs.

* Underlying respiratory infection in terms of bacterial or viral is the root cause and cuban cigar was exacerbating factor for the symptoms.

Kindly consult your doc for prescription of bronchodilator, antibiotics, decongestants and other supportive care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
