Does Smoking Hookah Cause Harm To The Baby In Case Of Possible Pregnancy?

Hello, I m 19 years old, and my boyfriend and I are going through a pregnancy scare. As of right now, I am not sure if I am pregnant or not, it s too early to take a test yet without going to the doctor. My question to you is actually about me smoking hookah tonight. It s the first time I have smoked hookah in months, and I was wondering if it could have any effects on the fetus IF I am pregnant and just don t know it yet. If I find out I m pregnant, I will for sure quit smoking hookah, because I just do it socially, but will this one hookah session affect this baby?

Understanding your concern. As per your query yes smoking hookah cause harm to the baby in case of possible pregnancy as it could effect foetus in many ways and it could affect since first trimester till last trimester. It could result in low birth weight babies, miscarriage, abortion. It can cause growth problem in foetus as well. It will lower down immunity of your body as well as that of incoming foetus and susceptibility to certain infection diseases like asthma increases. Well only one session of hookah is not so dangerous but it should be habitual and you should not have it specially in case of positive pregnancy. I would suggest you to stop it immediately. If it is giving you much addiction taper the dose and eventually stop. If after baby birth you will start having it again it will reach by milk and will stay in baby system and will start giving adverse effects.
