Does Smoking Marijuana Affect The Recovery Process Post A Brain Surgery?
Hi, I would like an ubiased opinion on a question I have. I have a friend who is in the hospital right now after surviving a gun shot to the left side of his head. He made it through surgery a couple days ago. He explained to me that they removed a small portion of the brain to get the bullet out. I am so thankful that my friend is even still alive. I saw him yesterday and he seemed like himself. He was really tired from all the pain medicine and he said his head was ringing still, but other than that he seemed like himself. I want to know how soon he ll be able to get back on his feet and get back to doing things he enjoys. One thing my friend enjoys often is smoking cannabis. Would smoking marijuana interfere with his recovery at all? I am really curious on this not only as a personal question, but as a question for science too. I am not sure if the THC would interfere with the recovery process that is taking place in my friends brain right now or not. I want to be sure of this before he goes and smokes a J or something. I read an article about a girl who had a tumor removed from her brain and 8 hours later she smoked marijuana and the next day was very disoriented/almost seizure type. I don t want this happening to my friend. Granted we are smart enough to know that he needs much more than 8 hours for his brain to rest. I am just really wondering if he ll be able to enjoy cannabis again. Thank you for reading my question and god bless.
