Does Spotting Signify Pregnancy?

Hi, so I've been on birth control for 3 years or so. I've missed a pill before and nothing has happened. Around 3 weeks ago I had my regular period and I have also recently missed 1 pill. 3 weeks after period and into this month, I've been spotting. Never happened before. Could I be pregnant?

Hello,
Since you have missed the pill in the latter half of the cycle, chances of ovulation are nil and as such conception is a rare possibility in this instance. The spotting could be a breakthrough that may have ensued due to irregular use of the pill. You can get pregnancy confirmed/excluded through estimation of serum beta-hCG titres not earlier than one week prior to your next expected period. You may also nee a trans-vaginal sonogram to clarify the situation. Please get further help from your consultant. Take care.
