Hello,
Even if you began in the 5th month, it can still support a healthy
pregnancy and delivery, provided everything continues normally from now on. Yes, do take your prescribed medications by your Gynae.
Folic acid and iron are prescribed for baby’s brain and blood development. Calcium and vitamin D are given for bone strength.
Get routine check-ups and scans done to monitor your baby’s growth and wellbeing. Eat balanced home made food. Home made food is more nutritious than the outside food. Take fruits, berries, nuts and veggies. A normal delivery or a
vaginal delivery depends on several factors closer to the due date like baby’s position (head-down is best), placental position, blood pressure and sugar levels.
Progress of labor matters a lot. Even women with perfect reports sometimes need cesarean delivery and that’s okay if it ensures safety for you and your baby. Walk daily in the morning and evening but do not exhaust yourself. Do not sit or stand for prolonged time. Avoid doing heavy and strenuous work. Take 8 hours of quality sleep.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
