Does Stem Cell Therapy Treat Down Syndrome?

Dear Sir

I have a Down Syndrome son aged 25 years.

I have heard that Stem Cell Therapy is being tried/used on some Down Syndrome childeren & adults.

I wish to ask -

1. Do you have any such information that STEMCELL THERAPY is used for treatment of Down Syndrome?
2. What are the results known ?
3. Which hospitals/research intitutes are doing such treatment ?
4. Is there any other treatment which can be beneficial for my son?

Hi Welcome to HCM forum,
Stemcell therapy in Down syndrome is in a very juvenile stage of development. There is no cure that can be offered at this point in time for this problem. However I am sure you are more focussed on making your child's lifestyle as best you could. Any successful stage in stem cell therapy for this problem will be a huge news. So relax and continue doing the best you have been doing so far. Take Care.
