Hi, my mom got 5 stents on January 22. On 23d she was released from hospital with a little of skin rush.Today is 26th and her rush covered half of her body. What I should do. She takes only Clopidogrel as blood thiner and Iron. She is 89 years old. She does not have any problems with heart, blood pressure, and she feels normal.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really can understand your concern for your mother, rash because of the stent is not noted up till now in my all the patients who have stents, the reason of the rash could be medicine, and the Iron preparation is known for this, so in my opinion stop the medicine for the time being till she comes out of the rashes, mean while she can be treated with the longs acting anti histamine and I think she must be on this medicine once she recovered from this condition then she can be started the medicine again and if she develops rash again then it will be clear that she is hypersensitive to drugs, hope you can understand this, have nice day.
