Does Stopping Birth Control Pills Cause Spotting Followed By Heavy Bleeding?
I recently, almost 2 weeks ago had unprotected sex & prior to that I was taking oral birth control. I had only started back taking my birth control 3 days before I had sex twice & only took a few more there after. This week I had 1 day or spotting, followed by 1 day of heavy bleeding (more than normally) with intense cramps, after that day nothing happened. Is this just because I stopped taking my birth control? I don t know if it s too early for a pregnancy test, but I took one today & it was negative
Yes, its possible to experience spotting after stopping birth control pills after 2 days followed by bleeding as well. Pregnancy test is the sensitive test to detect pregnancy but still if you are suspicious go and see a doctor to have blood tests and ultrasound done to reconfirm it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
